These free*, one-day events, organised by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), will help housing providers to understand how best to specify, procure and manage heat pump installations, reducing risks and generating low cost, low carbon heat for tenants.

DECC has worked closely with the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) to revise its guidelines for installing small heat pumps (< 45 kW). These sessions are designed to explain the new guidelines in order to ensure good performance of this technology.

The sessions are specifically designed for asset management, sustainability, housing and energy staff within social housing providers.  Anyone who is not from a social housing provider should book themselves onto the reserve list.  We will inform you one week prior to the event whether we are able to offer you a place.

Training will be interactive, helping you to get to grips with the detail of specifications, the costs and benefits of heat pumps, maintenance, resident training, contracts and commissioning.  All participants who have a basic understanding of heating systems and typical house types can participate in the day and acquire new competencies.
